At present, the reason for being given the status of the world’s largest university is that at IGNOU, 35 lakh students take their education together, which is not the case in any university in the world. Students come from remote areas of the country.

In fact, due to IGNOU’s method of education in India, students in remote areas of the country join IGNOU University and complete their graduation in the comfort of their homes. New courses are added to IGNOU every year, due to which students take admission. At present, the message for the students of India is that the last date for admission to IGNOU has been extended to 31 August, so there is still enough time for those students who want to apply to one program or another.

As you know, admission is taken in degree courses, certificate programs, diploma courses, etc. through IGNOU. In such a situation, if the number in a given subject of a candidate is low or the student fails, then IGNOU also gives the student a number of chances to re-appear for the exam.
You can pass with good marks in (failed) IGNOU subject by sitting in the examination till the validity of the session.

After failing any subject of the IGNOU course, you can get a chance to pass by taking the exam for the second time. First of all, you have to know for which year your course is valid. For example, if the validity of your course is 2023-2028, then you can sit in the exam by December of 2028. In order to clear the subject, you will have to fill out the exam and re-appear for the exam.
