Dr Kiran Hazarika gets appointed as Pro Vice-Chancellor of IGNOU Speculation was rife on the topic of the “Next Pro Vice Chancellor of IGNOU.” There were many names before the centre for this coveted post of IGNOU. Finally, Dr Kiran Hazarika, the former principal, of Tengakhat University, Dibrugarh who is also regarded as one of the most renowned authors in today’s time was appointed as the Pro Vice-Chancellor on 16th March 2023 in Delhi. Mr Hazarika will be the official adjunct professor of Indira Gandhi National Open University.
Dr Kiran began his career in 1995 as a professor in the prestigious Dibrugarh Hanumanbux Surajmal Kanoi (D.H.S.K.) Commerce College. Importantly, this college has got the distinction of being the first full-fledged commerce college in the North Eastern Region of India. In the year 2012, Hazarika joined Tengakhat College as its principal. The writer of 7 books, Dr Kiran Hazarika is also a member of NAAC(The National Assessment and Accreditation Council).
